Nissan Motor Co. (Australia) Pty Ltd is conducting a Recall Campaign on certain Nissan T32 X-Trail vehicles built between January 2014 & January 2016 and sold in Australia to rectify the Back Door Stay.

Not all VIN's in the above range are affected.

Vehicles with power assisted opening tailgates are NOT affected.

What are the defects?

The paint coating applied during the supplier's manufacturing process of the Back Door Gas Stay does not comply with the design requirement for anti-corrosion. In extremely rare circumstances, the outer tube of the Gas Stay may corrode and crack resulting in the loss of the pressurised gas inside the Gas Stay.

What are the hazards?

If the defect occurs, the Gas Stay would be unable to support the opening of the Back Door posing a potential injury hazard.
