Defect
During production there may have been insufficient torque settings applied to the bolts fixing the ring gear for the differential.
Hazards
The bolts may become loose or detach and cause damage to the differential.
This would cause the vehicle to be undriveable, posing a safety risk for the vehicle occupants.
